on/off symbol light remains on when laptop is off. pls let me know its reason and solution

It is most probably shorting somewhere i suggest you have it diagnosed urgently by a tech before something gets fried on your board.

Two things I would try before.
1- does this happen when your laptop is unplugged from charger? If no then its either your charger or the port.
2- remove charger and battery then press and hold the on button for 10 seconds then see if this fixes it.
