One HDMI output problem

Hey guys, I got my HTC Vive today. It needs an HDMI port and my monitor does as well. My GPU is an R9 390 with only one HDMI on the GPU. Although I have another HDMI cable on the motherboard I can't seem to get it to work. Any help? Thank you!

You would have to enable the onboard video, but the performance would suck.

If your screen is 1920 x 1200 @ 60hz or lower, you can use a DVI -> HDMI cable(or just DVI if your monitor has it). This will free up the HDMI port for your Vive

Most R9 390's have a displayport and/or mini displayport, you can use a adapter like this:

That is a displayport to HDMI cable, if you need mini, just search for "mini displayport to HDMI adapter"

No luck guys, with a display port going to GPU to mini display port nothing works. Black screen on my Vive, with all green check marks on

I am not sure about the Vive, but my friends Rift has to be activated to switch on(in his case only when a game or SteamVR is started.).

What did you end up with? DP to HDMI?

Can you try the DP to HDMI on your monitor to see if it works? The Vive has 90hz for a refresh rate and that may be more than a passive adapter can handle.

It's not an adapter just a display port to mini display port. I get it working but at certain hours of the day it will not work. I have no clue why

Well that is strange. Sounds like the cable is defective.

It is just the DP monitor doing this? Did you at least get the Vive up and running?
