Onkyo HT-R990 repair

I have an Onkyo HT-R990 that shows "check speaker wire" then powers down. I need help troubeshooting this issue to repair the unit. There are no speakers or anything else hooked up to the unit

The error message you are getting would indicate that you have at least one amp channel that is shorted or blown.
