Opinion on this laptop

Hello everyone,

I would like to know your opinion on this laptop my girlfriend is thinking about

She wants a HP laptop, max budget is 900 €. It would be used for uni assignments/projects and running games now and then. I know she could get a cheaper laptop for these purposes but she wants a long-lasting, capable and strong HP (won't go for any other) laptop.

I'm open for any opinions and am willing to listen to your suggestions.

Can i ask why she is so intent on HP? I have nothing against them, just wondering.

Regarding the laptop i'd say thats pretty good. Nice graphics card, 8gb's of ram, windows 7, a gen 4 I7. Only things i can see being an issue is the harddrive is only 750gb's but this can be solved with an external HDD for movies and such.

Might be worth seeing how much extra it would be to add an SSD into that machine? Adds to the price but startup will be so much quicker. Will add a lot of convenience for when you sit down and quickly want to look something up.

You found a good laptop.i found HP ProBook 470 G2 G6W69EA on the same website which is costlier but does not match up to the one you found.its quite good.yeah like goldengoose said why is she intent on HP?if its HP then just go for this one.it will not give her any problem.everything thing about this laptop is good.go for it.

It's basically her own preference, nothing else. Her family and friends have said good words of it.

Thanks for SSD and external HDD suggesitons. As a casual laptop user, she will most probably not need any additional speed or space. But if she will, we'll stop by again and ask for more information

What type of games does she play? The gpu is not very good and can only be used to entry level games at the lowest setting. Personally I would get a different laptop as it is too expensive in my opinion.

Agree, She could get better configuration for less but if she is that intent with HP she probably won't notice any improvements

She prefers older games like Sims 3, Monkey island, so I think that gpu won't be a problem.
