Solved! Optical tv to hdmi sound bar

I have a Samsung TV with optical out and a Panasonic sound bar with both optical and hdmi input. I do have hdmi input on my TV but it will not send sound through to soundbar, the only way I can get sound from TV to soundbar us through optical cable but it does not produce such a good sound as if it was through hdmi which is what sound bar company recommend. Is there a converter which I could plug in from optical out on TV which would convert to hdmi to to into soundbar so I can get better sound please? Thank you Julie

on tv u should use hdmi output, usualy called ARC
sound quality wont change if u use optical out from TV, converter will not make it any better

The is no difference in sound quality between the optical audio output of the TV and the HDMI-ARC connection which is the same as coax digital audio. eARC which is just now coming on new TVs will offer better audio than optical.
If you don't like the sound of the soundbar it's because most soundbars suck.
