Optoma HD141X static for a split second

I have a Optoma HD141X, and the electricity in my house is pretty bad. I dimmed my ceiling light and I could hear a loud static/pop from my speakers, and my projector displayed static just like static would look like on a TV, for a split second. Everything seems to be ok, but is it possible to harm my projector this way, what are my options, because I don't have any control over the electricity in my house?

Can't say if it will harm your projector but it's not good for it. I would replace the dimmer with a new and better one. Some are cleaner in terms of interference. Buy one at an electrical supply store that sells to electricians rather than a warehouse store. They will know what you need.

I will look into that. I will try with surge protectors between my projector and speaker and if that fails, then I'll ask an electrician what's wrong. Thanks for taking the time to reply!
