Out of range signal

When I connect my BENQ projector to my Rogers cable box with the HDMI cable I get an "Out of range signal". It used to work fine before and just started with this problem. I have changed the cable box,but the same problem. Has the HDMI cable gone bad?

A bad cable could be the problem.
If you can connect the cable box to another TV check the video resolution setting. It may be higher than the projector can manage. That would be "out of range".
