Solved! Overheat

i have a hp dv2715nr laptop and it overheats alot. Running windows xp right now. anything i can do to cool this down or lower some settings to cool it down so i can play games (even with worse graphics) without overheating?

Clean the dust out of the heatsinks and fans.

should i like take it apart to do this?

You don't have to. Just blowing compressed air through the vents and fans is usually pretty good.
