Paint Shop - activating puchased product

I bought a copy of Paint Shop Pro X. At first, I activated it from the trial version and everything went well.
Then the computer went through formatting.
Now every time I download the program, no matter from where, I cannot put in the serial number.
It looks like this:

Since the E is underlined, possibly ALT+E while that box has focus.

I've gone through several rounds of reinstalling PSP after reformatting/reinstallation, and have never seen this come up.

When installing, it puts the drop dead date in the registry. Obviously, for a new OS install, that would not exist.
I'm thinking a possible window resolution issue. Can you scroll down in that dialog box? Possibly the textbox to enter the license is off-screen.
