[citation][nom]Raid3r[/nom][nom]kgrach[/nom]@raid3ryou miss the big picture it is extremely helpful.I used it house hunting. I use street view all the time when looking for directions. You can make an argument that satellite is not useful or that satellite is invasive. But street view is not invasive and it is very useful.** pffft wow your a candy coating one trick coin aren't you? First of all your backwards and its completely obvious. Satellite is ENOUGH street view IS invasive to the extreme fact...how can you believe otherwise? One is taking from a global view the other is done like some Orwelian black van without ANY acknowledgment that I know of. Perhaps this is opinion but its simple to see where the line is crossed.**Your arguments prove you disprove of street view because you are ignorant and not because of any concrete reasoning.Sorry My high tech offends you but I refuse to eat rancid food because you disapprove of my refrigerator. I also refuse to risk burning my house down because you disapprove of my use of high tech electric lights.**Wow you are an extremist..THAT'S your problem your BIASED, cause technology is your god. How dare you bring APPLIANCE into a perceivable 2d APPLICATION. Nice try on twisting my words but your attempt is full of contempt. Your true colors are on the table and you actually have nothing to debate my FACTS with on WHY everyone should just accept being documented just BECAUSE. Obviously some people are willing to take action. Other than groveling to be removed from a database they did not even know or asked to be in.**umm you do know many business people pay extra to have their business location or their photo listed in the yellow pages.**Are you daft? Or just lack comprehension skills...I can't tell, I would say...BUT I am being blog credible so. I am going to repeat what I said for you and give you a second chance..HEY I got an idea that's complete tyranny, lets take everyone's driver license photo and put them next to our numbers at yellow pages(or any other listing while your at it) without your consent... Whats sad...is someone will think this is actually a good idea. wake up.[/citation]
Actually, google street view is not an invasion to privacy and is actually a very useful tool with virtually no negative problems (minus displaying how terrible one's yard looks). Unfortunately, the person you are arguing with is a moron and couldn't convey this thinking very well so allow me:
1) Everyone already has access to the front view of your property via driving past on the street or walking by on the sidewalk. Since I already had access to the front view by seeing it in person, there is no violation of piracy.
2) THIS IS NOT A LIVE CAMERA! The information is not updated regularly, so it is definitely not reliable for plotting a theft WITHOUT actually checking the property in person anyways. (i.e. the google street view of my house is over a year old, before I even moved in)
3) Technology is not our god, or anyone's god for that matter. Technology is a tool, and we value technology because it is useful, hence all of the companies that profit by technology (including WiFi and all that Google has done).
In America, if something is useful, it makes money. That's one of the ideas behind capitalism. We pay for what we value. If you don't feel comfortable with technology, that is your issue. No one has infringed against your rights, you are not entitled to use physical force for the sole reason you do not like something.
