Pavilion G6 not turning on

Hi, I upgraded the HDD of my Pavilion G6-1b79dx notebook and its not turning on after that. There is a bulb next to where the power code connects to the lap to indicate whether its getting any power and it doesn't light up. Also the battery charging indicator isn't lighting up as well.
I've tested the battery and the adapter and they're both working fine. I tried doing a reset by removing the battery and the adapter and holding the power button for 1 min and no luck.
Took the whole thing apart checked for loose connections and everything looks good.
Tried resetting the CMOS by taking the CMOS battery out for a while.
Still No Luck. Any other options I could try?
(worried if I killed the board by a static charge at this point..)

Thanks in advance!

Try putting the original HDD back in, it might not work, but we'll be able to narrow down a few things. Second, you might be right about killing it. Finally, it does seem a bit odd that it would react that way to an new HDD. How does one go about replacing the HDD in this model? Is it a "four screws, a switch, and I'm done" or is it "Disassemble the whole thing and reassemble"?

Tried putting back the old HDD already and no luck. And yep it is a simple 2 screws out swap hard drives procedure. Here is a video of it:
