PC Doesn't See All the Speakers in my sound system

A while ago i bought a 5.1 surround sound system, however i have to connect it up to my PC via an optical cable (not got any spare HDMI ports)

However looking at the sound setup a couple of days ago it only has the front speakers shown, is there a way of getting my PC to see the rest of the speakers?

My computer uses SoundMAX and the drivers are all update to date

That is strictly a configuration on the PC. Optical cable has no information going back to the PC to tell it what is hooked up.
