pc headset to phone adapter

I recently bought a mic and wanted to use it for my phone as an external mic, but when I bought it I didn't realize it was only for computer. I know there are pc headset to smartphone adapters but most need two cords when my only has one. If there any that you know that will work for one please let me know. If it is a USB mic (which it probably is), it is not possible. In USB headsets it is 3.5 mm jacks with a USB adapter, there is no such thing as USB to 3.5 mm jack. Im pretty sure there are mics out there specifically for phones.
