Was looking around for a PPC PDA/phone. Something that has everything. Performance, performance, performance.
Speakerphone, Mp3, video's, whatnot...Large rom/ram, great screen, 400mhz+...etc.. problem is, I couldn't find anything. I tried the Imate Jam. Not such a big performer IMO. looking for a bigger screen. Size does not matter SOOO much.
If i get a phone it's probably Nokia N95, but just don't know about the PDA decision.
can someone post some links please to help me with the decision.
thanks in advance!

Firstly, why carry two devices when you can have one that does the lot and not really have to get something too big to be comfortable to carry.

I have had Qtek S110 (HTC Magician 128 mb) which is basically the same as the Imate Jam since they were released and it has been only just OK. I would not reccomend it to anyone today though as there are a lot of nice alternatives.

The Nokia N95 which you already mentioned is sure to be a nice choice...depends if you like Symbian OS.

The other beast that is just emerging in it's mother country is the Samsung SPH-M4500 (http://www.itechnews.net/2006/09/28/samsung-m4500-phone-with-51-channel-audio-and-dmb/). It has esseentially everything you can think of but still maintains a reasonable size. 160 MB, 624 MHZ, WiFi, GPRS, ED-VO, Bluetooth, DMB, 2 cams etc etc...

Where it is released outside Korea and when is another question.

If you wanted something today..the HP RW6828 looks good.(http://asia.cnet.com/reviews/handhelds/0,39001703,39315678-39116580p,00.htm). It seems to get reasonable reviews and has all the stuff which is now missing from my QTEK.

If you like to have a qwerty thumb pad, the other very nice offereing just coming out is the O2 Cosmo (HTC Excalibur) which again has all the bells and whistles with a reasonable size (http://www.gsmarena.com/o2_cosmo-1713.php)

If you are only going to go for a phone...for me its best to pick something small....this new offereing from samsung is very nice.(http://www.i4u.com/article6568.html).

Something that I discoverd which is cool for considering the size of a couple of different devices is Size Easy (http://www.sizeasy.com/page/sizeup)

Enjoy the process of selection...I think it half the fun.

PDA's are a waste of money, there is no use to carrying two devices. One of the hottest PDA phones right now is the Sony Ericcson P990i

I recommend the HTC 6700 great if you have a 1 gb or even 512 mini sd to spare, cant tell the difference bt internal and the sd memory.

How can the phone possibly replicate 5.1 audio? :?

Does the phone require a 5.1 audio file (i.e. WMA PRO or AAC PRO) or can it create a matrix from ordinary stereo files (i.e. a Dolby Pro Logic II, DTS Neo:6)?

If you grow weary of the onboard speaker system how would you connect the phone to a 5.1 receiver?

The HP Ipaqs offer a lot of phone/pda for the money. My 6515 is rather dated by todays standards yet still offers me a fantastic balance of features and reliability. The Samsung Blackjack is faster but has no touchscreen.
