Both genders told scientists about the pressure girls experienced from boyfriends or strangers "to reciprocate on exchanging sexual images".
Both males and females said they were shown pornographic images without having agreed to look at them.

Yes, I'm sure it's a huge problem for those who don't want to see that- they get rid (i.e. dump) the offending party that puts on the pressure- something that I'm sure is impossible to do.
I'm sure it's in the vein of "Will he still love me if I don't want to have sex with him?" The answer follows who that person is- if they're worth hanging around, the answer is yes. If not, throw him away.
So it's nothing new, at any rate.

If the problem continues, they take it up with some authority for a kind of protection- charges can, of course, be laid from doing this.

And what peer pressure? I'd assume it goes like this:

"Yeah, has your boyfriend/girlfriend sent you a picture of yet?" "No?" "Then we can't be friends anymore."

Seriously?

They already want sex, have sex, see porn on tv/movies and simply have it forced into them. So now they can join in, who gives a crap at this point?

@ maigo: Yo, maybe that's the way your parents raised you. But if you raise your own kids like so, then yeah, who gives the crap at how they turn out to be. Sexting is the least you would worry about besides drugs, sex, weapons...

"Peer Pressure"? I thought horniness drove such things ...

They almost got it right though, "PP" does drive such things. Man's hungry little PP that is ...

Exactly my point, it's the LEAST of the worries you should have. Assuming it's their crush and not some 30yo pedo

you couldnt call 33 people a study, more like being nosey and most people ignoring you lol

most people that extange sexual content are usually together teaseing each other for next time when they and dont forget the sexual urges you have when growing up, its pretty normal now days cos people are more open with each other as a society, good or bad its just how things are

This is nothing new, this type of activity has been going on forever and people still want to try to label it as abnormal or wrong. The only thing new here is that it is being done on smart phones. Before that it was on the PC, before that it was photo's or in person. People should educate their kids as to the possible downsides or repercussions to sexual activity, instead they try to stop them from doing what curiosity and human nature itself is driving them to do.

How's that even relevant to Tom's?!

That said, the study is stupid, and not even because the ridiculously small amount of test subjects, but also because it tries to give some other explanation to the teens horniness than the horniness itself

Back in my day, we just showed our parts in person. The downside to the new methods is that the picture can be sent to more people, but other than that, it's the same thing as it's always been, just in a different form.

Most things kids do is due to peer pressure. They want to fit in, what's new?

I see nothing wrong with this as long as it's with the boyfriend / girlfriend and not some old perverted man (or woman). Before digital photography and cell phones, people just took pics with Polaroids and gave them to each other yet there were no articles such as this back then.

This is another case of typical closeted family values thinking. They think their kids have only begun acting up due to outside forces, when in reality you just hear about it more often now that it has become easier. Sorry mom and dad, but your 14 year old daughter is NOT a virgin.
