[citation][nom]lolamerica[/nom]This is another case of typical closeted family values thinking. They think their kids have only begun acting up due to outside forces, when in reality you just hear about it more often now that it has become easier. Sorry mom and dad, but your 14 year old daughter is NOT a virgin.[/citation]

+1, USA's media is always too quick to find something to blame for the kids' natural behaviour and to try and "shield" them from it, be it video games with sexual content, pr0n or peer presure.

I wish teens would not do this what if you girl/boy friend breaks up with you then shows everyone this happen back when i was in high school. The guy should everyone the picture of her. P.S she was hot though. Still she was not even 18 at the time i told that guy to get rid of it because he can get in major trouble.

Of course, the old solution developed by nerds for anything dealing with peer pressure still works: Don't keep peers.

sex-ting is just like accessing porn, if someone wants to send naked pics of themselves let them do it, they are making such a big deal...we really have nothing better to talk about?

Tha fu..? i dont get it, im 27 so im quite old, but the idea was to get the girl... not a picture....
For that i already have the internet.
The next generation is simply retarded (and they called me nerd when i was playing games on pc in my day).

I guess this does only happen to weak personalities, something that depends on the parents, as they are the ones who give us the first, basic education.
however if the education is the TV, becouse parents are always working....

The simple fact is that the peer pressure kids get about sexting is the same as the peer pressure every generation has experienced in some form or another. As with anything related to socialization and sex, kids will always find a way to talk about it and pressure others into it.

What do you know, something survived the generation gap.
This sort of behavior always has been and always will be with us, get over it.
At least you can't an STD over a phone, unless you really misuse it that is.

A solution, if there's any, would have to contain rather extreme measures - such as entirely banning the use of cellphones by those under 17/18, for the whole country (i.e. Australia). Or having a cell tower radio jammer embedded all around the school to jam all incoming/outgoing signals.

Those would be the level of measures required if they really want to stop sexting. But then, kids will simply switch over to using paper and pen, probably.
