Pentax digital camera with their AF lenses?

Maybe this is a very stupid question, so please forgive me.

I have a Pentax MZ-3 camera with a couple of Pentax and Sigma AF
(AutoFocus) lenses. I have a Nikon CoolScan V Ed and that give me the
possibility to make digital images of my negatives, but I would like to
get a digital camera on which I could use my lenses. Does Pentax have a
digital camera that allows me to use the lenses of their 35mm cameras?

Yes indeed they do. Look for the *ist D and the lower priced *ist Ds. Yes
the name is funny, but they are nice cameras.

Just got my *istD and love it. If you have been shooting Pentax 35mm cameras
for a long time, you should have a fairly short learning curve. The shutter
priority and aperture priority work exactly the same. The full manual is
close too. They did a good job of putting the controls close to where they
were on their film cameras. The *istD uses all of my KA lenses from 30yrs
ago just fine. I never got into AF much, except for my Sony f717 digital and
there is just no comparison there to the *istD. Personally, I just didn't
like the feel of the *ist Ds as much as the *istD. I have the battery pack
with the extra shutter release and it feels exactly like my old film boxes
now. Yea, it is a bit heavy, but that is the feel I like. It is all
personal. I bought a WA and a mid range lens with the camera and noticed how
good the AF was and may use it more often now since my old eyes are on the
downhill run....... Make sure you go to a camera shop and hold the
cameras yourself so that you can get the feel of them and choose what YOU
like best. What may feel right to me may not feel the same for yourself.

Thanks, I've been reading the specifications and it really looks very
good, especially since I can use all my existing lenses.

That was a major factor in going with the *ist for me. Thousands of bucks in
lenses (today's dollars) will help sway most folks. I made a mistake in
buying a 28-80 Tamron AF when I already had a 27-70 Pentax KA. I should have
just got the 16-25 and let it go at that. Make sure you go through all the
lenses you have so you don't duplicate. I would suggest getting one AF lens
just to keep the camera handy if you happen to come across something that
requires a quickie shot. The AF is extremely fast and customizable.
