Photos on SD Card Black now

I plug in my gopro to get pictures on my computer, and some pictures show up, but most are just black. Can anyone tell me why?

Are you viewing them on the card while it is plugged into the device that took the pictures, or are you plugging just the card into the laptop? Also, are they black only on the computer or also on the device that took the photos?
