Picture takes 15 minutes to appear, sound is OK

WHEN TV (26C3030D MODEL) IS SWITCHED ON, SOUND IS OK, SCREEN COMES UP WHITE, THEN STREAKY, FOR ABOUT 10/15 MINUTES, THEN PICTURE APPEARS AND SET CONTINUES TO WORK PROPERLY THEREAFTER.
HAVE HAD THE SET FROM NEW AND THIS IS THE FIRST PROBLEM.
ANY IDEAS ANYONE?

How old is this TV? The backlighting may finally be giving up the ghost, or it may have failing capacitors (if you can see them, they will be cracked, bulging, or leaking).
