Nowadays I have a hobby of playing games, time to time. However it is not certain that it will be a long term interest. Until I become a regular player, I am not keen on purchasing a game PC or laptop due to apparent reasons.

I can play (until now Portal 2, Talos Principle etc.) comfortably on my computer without freezes, crashes or lags. So I guess many similar games will not be problematic for me. However, one problem I feel is that when I am playing a game the fan works at full speed as I understand from the sound.

Would this create any damage? I mean it appears that somethings are working at full capacity - would it be better that I purchase a gaming PC or Laptop - I mean using this Laptop at its current configuration would do more harm than good? If no harm will be done to the Laptop itself - then I have no problems playing this game. My current Laptop configuration is below:

Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU 2020M @ 2.40GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.4GHz
Memory: 4096MB RAM

I guess it has on board graphics card.

If the system continues to overheat, then yes, your laptop could be damaged. The existing cooling system *should* be sufficient for your system under normal usage, but the laptop was not designed for playing high-end games (even at low settings) for extended periods.
