You could buy this version with the "obese" hard drive, or you could buy the base system and then spend $50 and about 5 minutes to upgrade to a 500GB hard drive.

What about backwards compatibility
I know so many people i know are buy xbox because for price and keeping there ps2
And never looking a ps3 because thy will still has to keep there ps2

I haven't seen a 500GB laptop drive that cheap yet! About $115 on Newegg right now. But point well taken.

Yeah i upgraded my 20 gb drive (I got one of the original PS3s) to a 160 for 39.99 (a sale at newegg)...that's the one real nice thing about the PS3... everything else pretty much is fluff to a game console. i.e. HOME. so unnecessary....
