Please help me idk what to do.

So I took my laptop to a computer repair place because it was over heating n they ordered a fan now there saying it's the mother board but it's funny it worked now it doesn't I told the guy it probably just needs cleaned they want more money n I don't think I should have to pay em they work on laptops n said they looked at the whole thing ik they didn't obisbly.

So you don't have any problems currently? I'd just monitor the temps for a bit to make sure it's fine.

FWIW, if the laptop was overheating, there is a very good possibility it loosened solder joints on the motherboard, which would need re-flowed then. If they were working off the information that it was a bad fan, they cannot determine other problems until a good fan part it used.

I gather they haven't given you laptop back yet?

You can always go in and have them show you what is wrong with the motherboard.
