Please tell me your opinion about this laptop.

Hello,
I'm looking for a laptop that costs up to $1K, for doing general stuff. I did some research, and the HP Envy 15t-j100 Quad Edition seems to be interesting to me...
The following customization costs $950 after using a coupon:

Is there currently a laptop that's better than the one above for a similar price?
Or do you think I should wait for a new laptop that's coming soon and it's worth waiting for?
Please note: I'm not looking for a gaming laptop nor a laptop with touch screen.

It's not bad. For $879 you can get a Lenovo Y510 which comes with a GT 750m for better gaming performance.

I will point out that the $879 Lenovo Y510 does not come with a SSD cache.

That means there will most likely not be a NGFF M2 slot to install your own SSD in the future.


I actually prefer a laptop with DVD drive. Since I tend to burn discs every now and again. Plus one time the hard drive of my Lenovo Y470 somehow got corrupted since one day it would not boot up at all. An error message stated was no OS detected. I fixed the problem by putting my Windows 7 64-bit disc (for my desktop) and initiated a Windows 7 repair which took a few seconds.
