Hey guys, I just got the polk n1 soundbar on sale and monoprice and am going to use it for my pc set up. The problem is, the mother board I have doesn't have a optical input for sound. It only has the standard 6 analog options. I didn't even consider this being a problem, as its a brand new board.

I used the analog to the line in audio but the sound is off. Like way off. Almost like the center channel isn't doing anything even though I have my computer configured to just 2 front speakers.in the software.

So my question is what do I need to get this working cable/spliter/converter wise. Would a DAC be best, or an analog splitter or something else.

Please be specific. I'm kind of ignorant on sound things and cables and such. I would very easily order the wrong thing that so close to being right.

Thanks for your help.

What makes you think there is a center channel in the soundbar? Since it's for gaming and not a TV there may not be one.
Try all the different modes in the soundbar.
Using the optical input may not improve the sound enough to help. You can try connecting it to another source (your TV, phone, or a friends PC with optical out).
It just may not be right for you.
