if power ever goes out, Is there an adapter or power source I can use to power my laptop without the use of a generator?

Depends on exactly how long you need to power it, and the kind of laptop (mostly what charger it uses).
One option is a UPS, another would be a simple battery bank if your laptop has USB type C charging.
