power surge broke my tv?

power flickered off then right back on in my house. Turned my t.v on and there is nothing but static on the screen. Is is repairable?

sounds like a power blackout not a power surge. while true that a blackout can damage electronics typically there isnt as much of a problem compared with surges which almost always cause some sort of problem.

my guess would be you are on the wrong input or some other software/setting/setup issue. have you tried plugging in a device such as a dvd player which you know works and selecting that input?

without more information we cannot really say for sure.

all electronics should be on surge protectors. Surge protectors should be replace every 1 to 2 yrs; they do wear out as they get used.
