so Ive done a fair amount of research into a desktop but i want to see what laptops out there would cost me.
i am more than open to used or referbished, where would a good place to look for a reasonably cheap (say under 800.00) laptop that can be used for work and also home gaming with say a quad core and a 1060ti as a video card be?
if any of you know a laptop brand that is known reliable wtih an external graphics card dock for future upgradeablity that would be a plus too

I'm looking at possibly this laptop for a comparison, i figure my current laptop can be sold for 300-400.00 so that will add to my budget, for the desktop i was trying to stay at 450 so if i raise that to 500 and push the wallet a bit i would come in around 800-900.00 for a laptop.

what do you guys think? this laptop vs a ryzen 2400G build w/o video card

my desktop build would be a ryzen 2200g with 16gb ram, msi tomahawk, Samsung 512ssd, and ancillary things for about 480.00, i would need to add a video card later

the laptop would be a 7577 dell with i7hq and 1060. factor in my present laptop selling for lets say 350 and my budget goes from 500 to 850. if i buy the i5 version of this laptop it comes with 8gb of ram and a ram upgrade kit is about 190.00. the i5 is 900.00 and the i7 is 1,028.00 so the ram price factored in and I'm paying nothing to upgrade to a i7 from an i5. id need to pull from the coffers a bit more for the budget BUT i think this is my best option given that this laptop is compatible with external TB3 GPU solutions.

anyone have any input on this?
