Pathetic. Numbers are soo skewed.
Everyone knew about the price drop. Take a look at June and July numbers for PS3. They all waited and then bought the PS3 Slim. Ofcourse the numbers will jump up in August!! Wow, basic economics.
To measure if the PS3 is selling like hot cakes you have to have at least 3monhts data. If this number keeps climbing till 2010...yes I'd agree.
And Off Subject, for people who keeps bashing the Wii for being so inferior in every hardware aspect, Why is it still on top? Reason #1: Because the Wii is aimed at a different demographic vs you hardcore gamers. The average joe who plays games casually, outnumber you hardcore gamers probbaly 20 to 1. Reason #2: inovation in the Wii-mote. Its the Wii-mote alone (Almost) that is getting Joes and joe's family across the globe playing the Wii. These two reasons alone are the reasons the Wii is making money vs MS and Sony losing money. Again who cares if the Wii is inferior to the PS3 and Xbox? In the end, its the $$$$$$ that Nintendo is making that counts and Sony and MS is losing money. And if you hardcore gamers actually owned a CompanyA (Nintendo), would you rather keep making money or say why don't we be more like CompanyB (Sony/MS) and cater to only gamers? - Don't be stupid. I gaurantee you if Sony and MS could have came up with something similar to the Wii before the Wii, they'd be doing the samething Nintendo is doing.

true. nintendo always said it wasn't trying to compete with the ps3 or 360 and that the wii was a totally different console then them
