Solved! Problem with ext HDD

I have use the external HDD for TV-recording. It was formated by the TV. Now I want to use it on PC/Labtop. Understand need to format it but the PC/Laptop not able to assign a drive designator to the HDD....so not able to trigger the format command. When connector to the labtop, under Computer menu , it does not show the device. However when look at Disk Management, it show the devices. Do advise me how to get it formated.
