PS3 to be Backwards Compatible Again Thanks to Gaikai?

I still have my PS3 CECHE01, which I consider the greatest PS3 ever.
Software PS2 emul(you can't tell the difference from hardware), all the memory card slots, 4 USB ports....

Yea, Sony isn't gonna get another dime from me unless they bring back OtherOS support(Linux).... Which is why I bought the damn thing in the first place.....

I have 3 CHECHA01. Two cfw 3.55 TB and one legit ofw 4.11. They all play my PS1 n PS2 games. the other two cfw 3.55 TB plays all my Nintendo, Sega, Mame games... so I dont have to worry much. =)

Exactly what I was thinking. 'Streaming' =/= 'Revived Backwards Compatibility.' I can't play the games I have, I have to BUY THEM ALL AGAIN. That is total crap.

Anyway, one of our student book stores in town has an old first-gen 60GB PS3 that I'm thinking of buying. They still want $600 for it though; I wonder if they realize they'll never get it. If I can talk them down to $300, it's a total steal, imho.
