I have lurked for over a year. I saw opening NFL game on ABC last year
at a buddy's house and swore I wouldn't let next season get away from
me. Fox is going HD and ABC, ESPN and CBS are there already. Have a
Comcast basic feed and built in tuners negate need for digital tier. I
hooked up another bud's RPTV with a tuner and he gets local HD from wire
to wall with no extra box.
Small House, Small room. I am choosing Sony 34 inch widescreen tube.

Any Comments or suggestions?

Just bought the same model...delivery scheduled for tomorrow.
I saw an HD signal on the 910 model (which was replaced by
the 960) and was amazed.I'm not sure what RPTV means, but I know
that the 960 has a "cable card" slot.

Our cable system supports "cable card" but not for HD signals.
That may or may not apply with yours.

And BTW...I bought mine through "shopsunshine.com" for less
that $1900 (total,including delivery).And no....I don't work for
them or anything like that!

I've had a Sony 34" HDTV for 3 years and love the picture quality. I also
have a small house and a small room. Excellent choice!

Quality product at a reasonable price for what you will be getting. May need
to go to the HD Box or outside Antenna for HDTV reception tho.

You bet, that XBR960 is a excellent choice. That's the same model I
bought a few months ago. Have you checked into Sony Style for a
purchase. It was about $2199, with free delivery. It included a $400
rebate if you want. You have to purchase a listed Home Theater A/V
5.1 system for about $399.95. Really a nice system and the rebate
check should be here any day. I did have to pay about $60 for
shipping & tax for the sound system. You can pay more and get their
best audio systems if you like, bet the rabate remains the same.
