Last week I purchased the HP Envy X360 15t from Costco for $781 MSRP is $1,000. It has the I7 6600 1TB HDD 16GB DDR-3 RAM Intel 520 Graphics(I e-mailed them as I firmly believe they should include NVIDIA with at least 2 GB memory and Windows 10 Pro). If not I am not upset because this is a damn good 2 in 1 and I am not really a gamer but want to do some video editing.

I went for the I7 because I want the laptop to be powerful enough hence why I am getting 16GB RAM and a 1 TB HDD. I know the SSDs are faster but I need the storage and I have a 2007 HP Media Center Desktop PC I got from Costco.

My current Sony Vaio VGN FE 720n from 2006 is about to die. Both my current computers(I'm writing from my Desktop_ runs Windows 10 Pro very quickly. As you can probably tell I am very good at maintaining my computers.

On my HP Desktop it was getting BSODs with Windows 10 and Page File Errors I fixed it by reinstalling WIndows 10 and no there are no problems with the anniversary update.

Amazingly on my old computers it boots up very fast. My Father has a 3 year old HP Pavilion AMD computer with 2GB RAM and its slow as heck.

Did I do good with my laptop specs? I have been a lurker on TOM's Forums. I am a tech geek having used Windows since 3.0 DOS. I simply love getting every ounce of juice out of my computers.

I had to replace the keyboard twice on my Vaio but it was a damn good computer and it was my Grandfather's before he died and he willed it to me. I upgraded the memory to 4GB and pushed it out. Call me stupid for upgrading it but I could not find a better laptop. Yea so the WiFI card went out so I used a USB dongle WiFi adapter.

Please advise me on the HP X360 Envy. It looks very solidly built and it reminds me of the way the Sony Vaios were built as well as the Mac Book Pros. I don't like Mac for overcharging and quite frankly I am a PC guy as I love what the PCs can do.

It took me 2 years to finally make a decision. I went all over the internet including Tom's Forums to find the best laptop. I was close to getting an I5 but wanted to go with the I6 with 16GB RAM 1 TB HDD. The SSD is a newer technology and I am still afraid call me old school if a power short occurs it would wipe out all the data unlike a SATA.

HP has a protection built in to the laptops that will reset the drive if something bumps it. It also has CoolSense(r) to keep it cool.

I read Lenovo had problems, not too sure about Dell with their issues in the past. I am one to buy more on the memory and RAM and max out my purchase. You never know when you need it.

Thanks in advance for your tips and warm welcome.

If you really want things your way, and you feel comfortable doing it, I would so suggest building your own. There is no comparing a prebuilt to a custom one. :)

BTW Welcome to the crazy hooked on computers forever club. LOL My oldest (which I actually still have) is from 1983! http://www.old-computers.com/museum/computer.asp?c=1227&st=1 I had so much fun with that thing. And, which isn't listed in the info there, it had a 9600 baud modem, which was seriously fast for the time. LOL
