Hey guys,
I accidentally put my laptop onto a damp surface for a couple of seconds. Would moisture have gotten in through the gaps on the bottom of the chassis?
Also, I then the laptop upside down on my lap, and a fairly largish crumb like thing fell into one of the gaps where the ssd bay is inserted into the chassis http://i.imgur.com/Nqyk6s5.png . Should i be worried?
Thanks!

Does the laptop have any fans or open grills where it was wet, I don't think it would have caused much of an issue just make sure you dry it off thoroughly. If your laptop is still running then it should be okay as long as no water entered the laptop itself.
If you are worried that water entered it, leave the laptop out to dry.
As for the strange crumb is it possible it could have been a piece of dust or dirt?
I really doubt anything would actually come loose in your laptop because laptops are usually quite compact and don't have much room to move around to begin with.

Thanks for the quick reply! Do the places where the yellow arrows are pointing count as grills?: http://imgur.com/ay4bo1y (the pic is from the manual, in my case the thing to the left had its cover on.)

The crumb-thing was more like a medium- ish eraser shaving. It fell into where the red arrow is pointing: http://i.imgur.com/Nqyk6s5.png(that's the ssd bay).

Thanks

No they don't count as grills but where you got your laptop wet seems pretty watertight, you said it was only a damp surface so I doubt any water directly entered the laptop.
Like I suggested earlier just leave it to dry a little and turn it on. I really doubt your laptop would fail just from resting on a damp surface.
As for the SSD crumb I have no idea, I guess a piece of foam or plastic that could have come out from inside the laptop but other than that I doubt anything could have corroded or been damaged and fallen out.
Keep the battery out of the laptop, leave it to dry, turn it on and I doubt you will have any issues.

This happened a couple hours ago now. I had the laptop slept when it happened and everything obvious seems to be working fine since (its nighttime here, so I can't dry it anyway).

I was wondering if the crumb could do any harm to the ssd by dropping into the bay? I'm pretty sure its from outside, not the actual laptop itself.

Thanks for the help mate. If its not too much trouble, I'd like to ask one more question :)
I inserted the tip of a piece of paper into the gap where the crumb fell and it hit something (maybe the ssd?). Would this have caused any damage? Thanks again. Sorry if I sound paranoid.
