Question about gain and bass boost on amp.

I have an amp that's gain volts need to be set to 31. My question is when I set my bass boost should I keep it at halfway before setting the gain. This way I can turn it down for songs that have too much bass and up for songs that I want more bass in. Most people say to set bass boost to zero when setting gain. If I did that though I would not be able to turn down sub for songs that the sub would have too much bass in such as rock songs.

You should use a quality microphone, and room calibration software to setup your audio system. Room EQ wizard -- http/www.roomeqwizard.com/ is a good tool

Doesn't matter. What you are trying to do is equalize the response of ALL the speakers, so that at your ear location they are all the same loudness and have a flat frequency response. That is the most accurate sound.
