Question for Sony experts

Greetings,

I just purchased a new Sony HDTV and received a different model than I
thought I ordered. Now, I need some expert help to decide whether I
should keep it or return it.

I intended to purchase the (newer) KV-34HS420; instead, I received the
(older) KV-34HS510. My initial thought was to exchange it for the
newer model, but reviewing the specs, it seems like the 510 may
actually be the better of the two. I was charged the same price I
expected to pay for the 420.

Does anyone out there know the difference between these two TVs and,
if so, what would you recommend that I do: keep it, or return it? Any
input would be greatly appreciated.

I just brought home the S510 and love it! Our entertainment center
restricts us to the 32" version but other than that, it's great. I
think the only real difference is the 420 doesn't have PIP and the
audio system is not as robust as the 510 (reduced output for the
subwoofers). Other than that, I think they are the same. We don't have
surround sound so the audio portion was important. I don't use PIP
enough to make it a factor. We've only played one DVD so far (the tv is
only 2 days old to us) but it looked a lot better than our old system
which was a 27" XBR using S-video as opposed to component. Personally,
I like the looks of the 510 over the 420 so aesthetics-wise, it's the
clear choice for us. Play with it for a week or two and I think you'll
like it. Leave it at factory specs for about a month or so to burn it
in before you start making a lot of adjustments. I've read about the
red-push but haven't seen it so far. BTW, we are on a terrestial
antenna so I can't comment on cable or satellite reception. We plan on
getting a STB once the new LG's are offered. HTH.

I have a year old Sony 34HS510... Super nice....

Keep the HS510... The HS420 is the cost reduction

version of the HS510... The HS510 is more bang

for the buck... plus 510 looks and has more features!
