This is mostly for you homebrewers and/or homebrew fans... when a
homebrew is released on cart, what is a typical production run?
500? 1000? What can a hobbyist reasonably expect to sell within
the first year?

I would imagine it would be different per game. But I think most
start with around 100. Nobody wants to make that large of investment
into a game, especially if it is for an older system. After they have
sold, then you probably decide after that h ow many more to make if
any.

It depends on the system, and visibility of the project, but I'd
say if you sell 100 units, it's a success. Plan for smaller amounts
if you can do them, or plan on slowly selling the last few --
hopefully.

On the other hand, some homebrews that were limited are suddenly in
demand a few months down the road, so if you can be prepared to make
more later, that's ideal.

I'd suggest starting with 20 units if for a more obscure/unpopular
system, and 50 for something better known and loved. Plan to produce
twice that if it takes off.
