r5 m230 switched to hd 8500m after driver update

hey, i had amd radeon r5 m230 graphic card, but then i updated my drivers and now everywhere it says that the graphic card is now radeon hd 8500m, is that normal? the performance doesnt seem to be any different.

hello there the only thin i can think of is that you got the wrong driver or that for some reason when u got the new driver it thinks you have hd 8500m i dont really have an answer if your performance changes then i would be concerned and i would contact AMD about it hope this helps

it also happened with my laptop just now..

The updated driver seems to be simply causing the graphics card to be misidentified. As long as performance does not seem to be affected there is nothing to really worry about. At worse simply re-install the previous driver.

Well since your performance doesn't lack I don't think this will cause any issues. Like Jaguarskx said if nothing work then you have to re install it again.
