Random file downloaded everytime he watches a youtube video?!?!

Everytime my friend tries to bring up a youtube video it downloads a file called frame. It is just a file, no actual format and it contains 0 bytes. What could possibly be causing this. Have any ideas on how to fix it?

Also, I am pretty much positive this is in the wrong category, sorry ahead of time.

1. Clear the temporary internet files cache, clearing the download history, and browsing history.
2. Sign out and sign in again.
3. If it is connected to a Google+ account, go into user settings and temporarily disconnect the accounts.

I ended up having him uninstall and reinstall chrome after I made my initial post. That seemed to fix the problem, thanks for the help though 😀 .
But, you seem to have an actual solution for the community
