Raw+jpg shots in DSLR

I assume the jpg shot is what comes up on the LCD if I shoot raw+ jpg. And I will only see the raw if I open in post. Right?

Yes, probably. But what you see on the little LCD, either JPG or RAW is what the software in the camera resolves the image to.

The images, RAW or JPG, you see in a post processing application (Lightroom or similar) may be slightly different.
