RCA 56" HDTV Password problem

I have a RCA HDTV Monitor D56W20, and the parental control is turned on and I've lost password, the front controls are locked out as well. Is there a way to default the system thru the remote?

If you forget your password, press and hold "Menu/OK" on the television and "TV" on the remote for three seconds. You can then enter a new password.

YMMV, but works for most models.

I tried this, but it wasnt successful.. The front controls are locked out so may not be recognized by the TV, thanks for assistance. BGONE1216
