I have a new 5 channel receiver. It has a clip system so I have all my in-wall surround sound speaker wires attached (5 channel/5 speakers). I have a subwoofer on the floor with a positive and negative wire clip in the back, but the new receiver has a single 'subwoofer' jack - RCA style. I have an RCA cable with Red & Black jacks on both ends. Is it possible to use these? by stripping off one of the red & black end and connecting them to the subwoofer accordingly? Then which RCA plug do I use? Do I need to get a special cable? Thanks. It's that or buy a newer subwoofer. This one is fine. All the other parts are working great. Thanks!

you need an amp for that sub. your receiver has a line out (low voltage / low power), but your sub only has a speaker input. you need an amp! buy a simple used amp to use for the sub, or buy a proper active (powered) sub.
