Re Install Windows XP volume control

My volume control has disapeared from the task bar. I can still run "sndvol32", but it says that there are no drivers installed for such a thing. ?????

I remember having that problem with many xp clean installs. If I remember correctly it means that you need to install the audio driver from the manufacturer's website.
