Realtek 1150 codec good enough for passive speakers?

Just wondered if this codec can run a set of passive speakers, without any external amplifier?

Yeah for passive speakers and headsets up to 120 dollars easily.

Ok thanks. The speakers i had in mind cost about $700. But has anyone tried using speakers in this price range, with the 1150 codec?

If you have to money to buy $700 speaker's I'm notnwhy you would even consider integrated sound probably need some of those snake oil monster cables too

You can't run speakers without an amplifier off a sound card. If you have to ask about that, I would not spend $700 on speakers, you need to learn and listen to a lot more speakers before you can decide what to get.
