RealTek HD Audio Manager will not recognize headphones

RealTek HD Audio Manager will not recognize headphones. All the forums say to go to connector settings and uncheck a box that says "Disable front panel jack detection." THERE IS NO TEXT OR BOX ON MINE. Other helps have said to go into the control panel and update the driver. This option is grayed out and I can't select it.

Other info: When I plug something in the jack, I get a popup saying something was just plugged in, so it's recognizing it on some level. But it won't play on headhphones and I can't see any options to even select it, both in control panel and in the Audio Manager window. Any ideas would be appreciated.

If anyone ever cares to read this, we found that if you unplug your speakers, it will then go to the headphones. So it's an inconvenience to plug and unplug, but it works.
