My current wireless adapter (Intel 3160NGW that has required frequent resets recently) seems to have finally died. So I need a replacement. Should I just get another 3160NGW? Or would it make sense to upgrade to a 7260NGW , or something else?

Laptop is a Toshiba Satellite S55t-B5152. Processor is an Intel Core I5-5200U, @2.2GHZ.

Also, are all 7260NGW adapters the same, or will I need a special version to fit my laptop. Sorry for my amateur question. Just want to be sure that whatever I buy will fit and work.

Do the antenna wires just "snap" off , and snap back on? Assume I can pry with fingernails, or a small screwdriver?

Thanks and appreciate any advice.

FYI.. I replaced the 3160 NGW with an Intel 7265NGW. Tested and it has better speed by wireless than via ethernet cable. Simple replacement. Attaching the antenna wires takes a steady hand and good close up vision. Got the 7265 from Walmart's website. Under $10 and free shipping. Had the card in 3 days. (Actual Seller is not Walmart)
