Record A/V input HD?

I'm looking for a way to record an A/V Composite input or HDMI using a TV card or something. Upon a quick glance I noticed I noticed there is a new concept going on about Android tv boxes. Could someone suggest me the best way to record A/V input on its highest quality possible?

You will not be able to use an HDMI output for recording. That output has HDCP (HD Copy Guard). You can use the av composite but that will not be HD so the quality will be disappointing.

Use 5 RCA cables plugged into a component output, and run them into a recorded.

I use a AVerMedia GameCapture HD for ripping old analog media. (I know it's called GameCapture, but it can be used for non-game applications.)
