Record on headphone jack

I am trying to record audio on my Lenovo Twist via my headphone jack using Audacity. It will only record via my computers microphone. Ideas? Settings are MME and Soundmapper

What exactly are you plugging into the jack?

Headphone jack is an output. Microphone jack is the input. Use that.

The Twist uses a combo jack americansudiophile.

I suspect he will need a breakout adapter to get a sole mic jack.
