RTV really screwed up when they dropped Commercial Advance. That may
be the single best feature of ther 4500s and 5000s

"BruceR" <razrbruce%NOSPAM%@gmail.com> shaped the electrons to say:

IMHO ReplayTV's two killer features were SendShow/IVS and Commercial
Advance. Those two things set them apart from pretty much everyone
else.

Show|Nav isn't really the same as Commercial Advance, though I will
grant it is niftier than just 30 second skip. But the loss of the two
killer features hurt.

And TiVo, Moxi, etc, have encroached on RTV with show transfers, and
support for more media like music and photos, etc.

It is no secret that I've always been a TiVo supporter, but RTV was
always my second choice - and it is sad to see what was a real
competitor just stop competing. I never had anything against RTV and
I think competition is good. But the real competition now is from
cable DVRs with software from the likes of UCentric, Moxi, and
Microsoft.
