Recover overwritten photos

Hi.
I have a HTC Rezound and the other day I realized 3,000 pictures from my phone were missing.
I didn't do any updates, download any apps, or ANYTHING.
BUT I do occasionally switch my Phone SD card to my Canon SD adapter.
SO I'm thinking it might of OVERWRITTEN files OR lost files, due to improper ejection.
This is very important to me.. they were 3 months of baby pictures of my 4 month son.. all gone.
No backups.
PLEASE anyone help.

You have a lot of trust keeping all the pictures in a phone memory card, never even downloaded them to the computer?

Try a file recovery program, recuva is good.

There are some specialized programs to restore pictures, but most of those are not free.
