Recovering pictures from an LG VX6000

I have an old LG VX6000 cell phone that still powers up and works except it no longer has service. Can I get the photos off this phone with a USB cable and put them onto a Powerbook and would I need software to do this?

Yes. It should show up as a drive in the file explorer and from there it's a simple cut and paste operation.

You could use copy and paste but cut takes your personal data off the phone before you dispose of it.
